Today was the last day of Jürgens seminar. During the seminar the past days we spoke mostly about Harun Farocki and Heimo zobernich I am quite fascinated by Farocki, and his use of splitscreens, voiceovers and archival footage. An interesting oeuvre. Yesterday we saw a distubing fucking movie however. (prison images) That documentary + the discussion that followed was for me some of the most absurd we have had. I am not quick posit my position as the right one, but in this case I felt the general atmosphere really to be one of ignorance. I was kind of shook by it and after the seminar Maartje and me had a long discussion that was very heated at times but good vibes in the end. Today it was all about heimo zobernich. art world stuff that just does nothing for me. It does not frustrate me as much as it just bores me. It is the somewhat typical archetype of the artist replacing the search for how you exist in the world with how you exist in the artworld. I left halfway through the seminar, knowing that another two hours of that would have made me very tired. I walked around, worked on some picture experiments, wrote a lot, cooked very well and am now going to sleep.
